WELCOME TO ORANGE COUNTY

VFW Post 2093
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

HAPPY SEPTEMBER EVERYONE and a warm WELCOME ABOARD TO OUR NEWEST MEMBERS: MICHAEL D.HANEN, ROY OCILKA, WILLIAM KLEIN, JUSTIN ALEXANDER, ANDREW HOFFMAN, TIMOTHY VOORHES, LAURA TORRES, NEIL WILLIAMSOM, IVAN RIVERA and TIMOTHY RIGSBY. As they become familiar with our facility and family, please make them all feel welcome and appreciated.
As we enter into this latter part of the calendar year, our most active, the editor of the newsletter has graciously agreed to publish monthly instead of bi-monthly, as in the past.
Our sewer issue is still with us. At the last Post meeting, it was approved to hold a raffle with the prize being a one thousand dollar ($1,000) gift certificate to the "Always Armed” gun store on North O.B.T, next to TrailSaw and Mower, across the lake from us.
The price for tickets will be $20/each;
Only 300 tickets will be sold!
The drawing will be held in the big hall on Veterans Day, 11 November, 2024.
On 13 September, 24. At canteen close of business, we will need help moving the canteen operation to the front hall, as we did when we replaced the ceiling, and moving all tables and chairs as well, so that the workers may install a new floor in the canteen, which they have donated materials and labor to complete.
We will also need assistance on Sunday, 15 September, to return everything to its proper place and resume business as usual on Monday.
As always, we continue to need the participation of Post and Auxiliary members for our various events, projects and activities, and to those who are always there helping a heart-felt THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH.

Have a great month and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Respectfully,
George (Sarge) Pilioglos, Commander

Requesting Veteran Records

Many have asked how to get a copy of their DD214 or correct their military records.

Student Veterans of America

GI Bill benefits are the most widely utilized benefits available to veterans. Moreover, veterans on college campuses have demonstrated an eagerness to not only organize but to lead in their communities while pursuing higher education. By supporting the nearly 1 million student veterans on college campuses today, the VFW has a unique opportunity to not only showcase the amazing work of our organization, but we can also harness this leadership potential to grow our organization for future generations of veteran leaders.
