WELCOME TO ORANGE COUNTY

VFW Post 2093
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

Commander's Corner

Commander Edwin Quiles

Comrades, Family Members and Friends,

As the Commander of VFW Post 2093, I would first and foremost, like to announce to the members of VFW Post 2093 that we have been honored with the VFW All-State Award! This prestigious recognition is a direct result of the incredible dedication and hard work of several of our standout members.

Please join us in extending a heartfelt congratulations to these individuals for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment, which have brought such a distinguished honor to our Post. Their contributions truly make a difference!

Secondly, I'm already feeling the excitement that July brings to our Orlando community! From the exhilarating crackle of fireworks on the Fourth to backyard barbecues and refreshing dips in the pool, this month is a time for cherished traditions and making new memories with family and friends.

Here at VFW Post 2093, we deeply value these moments of community spirit. Many of us served to protect the very freedoms that allow us to celebrate with such joy and abandon. However, as we embrace the festivities, I want to echo a crucial message: please celebrate safely and responsibly.

The team here at the Post has been discussing the importance of caution during this busy month. Whether it's practicing good fire safety with grills or better yet, enjoying the professional fireworks display at the VFW Post 2093 property, staying hydrated in the Florida heat, or ensuring water safety for our little ones, a little vigilance goes a long way in preventing accidents and ensuring everyone has a truly memorable and happy July.

And speaking of community, as you enjoy all that July has to offer, I also want to take a moment to remind everyone about the vital role VFW Post 2093 plays right here in Orlando. We're more than just a building; we're a hub for veterans, a place of camaraderie, support, and continued service to our nation and our local area.

Your support is critical to our mission. Every event you attend, every meal you share with us, every dollar you contribute, helps us provide essential services to veterans in need, advocate for their rights, and support local community initiatives. This July, as you gather with loved ones, consider stopping by the Post. Whether it's for a social event, to learn more about what we do, or simply to say hello, your presence strengthens our Post and our ability to serve.

Let's make this July a month of safe, joyful celebration and continued community support. From all of us at VFW Post 2093, have a fantastic and secure July! We look forward to seeing you around.

Yours in Comradeship,

Edwin Quiles
Commander, VFW Post 2093

Student Veterans of America

GI Bill benefits are the most widely utilized benefits available to veterans. Moreover, veterans on college campuses have demonstrated an eagerness to not only organize but to lead in their communities while pursuing higher education. By supporting the nearly 1 million student veterans on college campuses today, the VFW has a unique opportunity to not only showcase the amazing work of our organization, but we can also harness this leadership potential to grow our organization for future generations of veteran leaders.
